Carbon Workshop

January 1, 2008, Ukiah, CA

In late 2006, California passed the Global Warming Solutions Act (AB 32) which regulates greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) in California. Similar legislation is currently being debated in Congress. The Mendocino County RCD held a workshop to explore the implications for Mendocino County forest landowners, ranchers, and farmers. The workshop examined the role of traditional natural resource industries in mitigating climate change through carbon sequestration and other GHG emission reductions as well as the potential to develop financial incentives for landowners to engage in these activities.
